GIFT CARD TERMS

These Terms and Conditions apply to all Gift Cards issued by Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Pty Ltd ("PWJ")

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Gift Card.

We recommend that you read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing or using the Gift Card. If you have any questions or would like more information about the Gift Card please call 03 6234 4270.

 

Definitions

The following apply to these Terms and Conditions

Acceptable Payment Method means cash, EFTPOS, credit/debit card and any other method at Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Group’s discretion. All monetary values are in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Access PIN means the 4-digit Access PIN printed on the back of the Gift Card.

Card Number means the 12 digit identification number that appears on the back of the Gift Card.

eGift Cards means any electronic Gift Card issued by PWJ that you have purchased or received through our Website.

Expiry Date means the date specified on the back of the Gift Card after which the Remaining Card Value will not be available for redemption.

Gift Card means any plastic card or eGift Card issued by PWJ that you have purchased or received.

Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, your name, your email address and payment details.

Remaining Card Value means, at any time, that portion of the initial value loaded onto the Gift Card which is unspent and can be accessed by using the Gift Card in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Website means www.pennicottjourneys.com.au or at such other address should the URL change.

A reference to you or your is a reference to the person who is in possession of the Gift Card at the relevant time for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, or who authorises another person to do something with or to the Gift Card on their behalf.

Agreeing to these Terms and Conditions

By using or attempting to use a Gift Card, or by making a transaction enquiry or exercising any right to redeem value loaded on a Gift Card, you:

  1. agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
  2. warrant to us that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and that the Gift Card will not be used in any manner that is unlawful, misleading, deceptive, unfair or otherwise harmful to consumers; and
  3. acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy at https://www.pennicottjourneys.com.au/terms.

Activation: There may be a delay with the Gift Card activating in the system once loaded. During this delay, the Gift Card cannot be used for purchases or transaction enquiries.

Access PIN: You acknowledge that we may allow access to the services offered on the Website to anyone who enters a valid Card Number and Access PIN. Your Access PIN is simply our way of identifying you. It does not offer you any protection or security if your Gift Card is lost or stolen. Remember to treat your Gift Card like cash.

You are solely responsible for any loss caused by use of your Gift Card and Access PIN by you or any other person, including any use not approved or contemplated by you.

Value: The minimum that can be loaded onto a card is $5 and up to the value of $1,500 on any one gift card.

Digital Gift Cards (or eGift Cards): will be sent to the recipient’s email address. Be mindful that the recipient may need to check their “Spam” or “Junk” inbox for the digital gift card. When purchasing online, it is the purchaser’s sole responsibility to ensure the postal address or recipient’s email address is entered correctly. Any gift cards/certificates not delivered due to a purchaser’s error, will not be replaced or refunded.

Lost or stolen Gift Cards: Treat your Gift Card like cash as lost or stolen Gift Cards will not be replaced or refunded.


Faulty or damaged Gift Cards: A Gift Card will only be reissued if it is proven to be faulty or damaged as a result of the production process or otherwise due to the fault of PWJ, its agents or contractors or a Participating Retailer.

 

Gift Cards are;

  1. Redeemable for merchandise or services at all PWJ stores and/or online;
  2. Partially redeemable;
  3. Not redeemable for cash and cannot be used for payments of credit or retailers accounts;
  4. Cannot be used to purchase Gift Cards;
  5. Cannot be reloaded.

Purchases exceeding the Gift Card value: Your Gift Card may only be used to make purchases up to the Remaining Card Value. If you wish to make a purchase for an amount that exceeds the Remaining Card Value, you must pay the excess using another Acceptable Payment Method.

No cash advances: You cannot obtain any cash advance with your Gift Card or redeem your Gift Card for cash.

Validity of Gift Cards: Your Gift Card will be valid for use for three years from the date of purchase.

Expiry of Gift Cards: The date specified on the back of the Gift Card after which the Remaining Card Value will not be available for redemption. To check the Expiry Date of your Gift Card, call (03) 6234 4270.

Destruction of Gift Card with no value: Once the Remaining Card Value is completely used, destroy the Gift Card by cutting it in half diagonally. Your Gift Card cannot be reloaded.

Can I cancel my Gift Card? You cannot cancel a Gift Card that has already been issued.

Exchanging items purchased with a Gift Card: Goods that are purchased solely, or in part with a Gift Card may be exchanged or returned subject to our Cancellation Policy and Product Refund Policy. Visit, https://www.pennicottjourneys.com.au/terms for more information.

Your Gift Card, your responsibility: You are responsible for the use and safety of your Gift Card. You are liable for all transactions on your Gift Card, except to the extent to which there has been fraud or negligence by us or by any of our employees.

Changes to Terms and Conditions: We reserve the right to change any of these Terms and Conditions at any time where the change is required.

Privacy: Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal information that we may collect from you with respect to Gift Cards. It is important that you carefully read and understand the Privacy Policy.

Errors and complaints: If you have reason to believe that an error has occurred in relation to your Gift Card, you should call (03) 6234 4270.

Applicable law: These Terms and Conditions are to be construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Any dispute arising from your receipt or use of a Gift Card is exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania, Australia.
